Planter Box Maintenance

Our Planter boxes are made to with stand the harsh Australian conditions, but alas with all timber products that are exposed to the elements, a little maintenance will be required.

We here at Hampton by Design paint out Planter boxes with a very good quality exterior undercoat, we also finish with a excellent exterior top coat, we do this to provide the visual aspect of the product, but more importantly to provide protection to the timber from the elements.

As we know the sun, can and will breakdown, any type of product exposed for long periods to it's rays.

And this is why the periodic maintenance would be required.

For best protection we recommend that your place them under cover for example: on veranda's, patio's etc , but if you wish to place them where they are exposed to the elements then they will require a bit of upkeep and maintenance.

Maintenance as require.

* Basic visual inspection

* Clean as required

* Repaint as required, (It's the paint that shields the timber from the elements)

Our Planter boxes are painted with acrylic water based paints and therefor may be simply washed and repainted with very little effort.

* Avoid planting directly into the planter box without using a liner or tub, as the soil and water will prematurely rot the timbers, ( This can happen very quickly)

* We recommend using a self watering pot to eliminate this issue.
